The annual student video scholarship contest from the Districts Make The Difference public awareness campaign hosted by the National Special Districts Coalition is now open to high school students grade 9-12 across the U.S.

Special districts are encouraged to help us use this scholarship opportunity to raise public awareness of the essential services provided by special districts in communities all over the United States.  The Districts Make The Difference website offers inspirational past videos and a toolkit for special districts and schools to use to spread the word.  The toolkit provides social media images and a press release sample for district or school use.

Students will be able to submit their 60 second informational video until March 31.  The first place winner will receive a $2000 scholarship, followed by a $1000 scholarship for second place, and $500 for third.  All three winners can designate a teacher of their choosing to receive $500 as well. Details and the official rules are available on the website.

In 2022 the contest received video submissions from 11 states.  Winners were announced from Florida, Oregon and California.  Help spread the word for your state!
